Then it was off putting but strangely alluring. But anyway... this is amazing wine, the superb fruit from Grand Reve and the deft ability of Ben Smith come through again and again. Just tasted the 2007 I at the release today and Ben is right: Fruit forward lovers need to drink this in the first ~5 years, and since that's me I'm loving the 04 right now -- both fruit and balance and some subtle complexity as well. Mmmmm.
