COLOR: Ruby-garnet with brickish-ruby rim
NOTE: My first wine with almost normal olfactory function after this flu. Nose is a nice lightly buttered scone with raspberry preserves, a little clove, cedar and black licorice. Different, but very inviting and no heat. Mouth is med-hvy with lots of ripe, sweet tannins, blackberry syrup and raspberry syrup. Almost a little too sweet, but it pulled back just a tad from the edge and reedemed itself. The finish wraps the black/red fruits up in a nice smokey blanket, almost bacon-like. It's a weird Bordeaux-style wine, a bit Port-like and similar to the Quilceda Creek Red Wine. Expensive for what it is but nicely made.
