Wednesday, September 22, 2010 - Deep purple hue. Smooth and silky mouth-feel. Soft tannins provide a nice balance to the flavors of black cherries and plums. There's also hints of carmel, vanilla and some nutmeg. Some oak with this wine but it's soft and balanced, not a heavy, overdone treatment. Nice finish with hints of chocolate. I was not expecting to like this wine as much as I did given my tastes trend toward an old world style. Easy drinking, nice crowd pleaser.
