Tuesday, June 10, 2014 - A really weird bottle this time around: not heat-damaged, not corked... This was very grassy on the nose and without any Krug signature (baked green apples and brioche is what I usually associate with the Grande Cuvee). The palate was thin and lacking in the usual intensity. One-dimensional. Finished short with notes of bitter almonds. Give this to me blind and I'm sure I wouldn't be able to place it as Krug. Sadly, a very pedestrian bottle of wine, and a complete failure as a bottle of Krug.
