92 Points

Monday, November 8, 2004 - This is my first experience with this Margaux, which is a second growth! Where has this estate been? Solid color, medium ruby. From the opening of this bottle I have been impressed, a decidely Bordeaux nose from the left bank, with a classic oak, cedar, cassis profile, deep cabernet coming through, some menthol and licorice. The wine constantly morphed through this evaluation, a great sign. Chewy and mouthfilling on the palate, elegant but at the same time packed with flavor. Another 2000 that is a newcomer to my palate, and very good concentration, acidity and overall balance. A 2000 D'Issan/Lascombes hybrid, with more acessability then the D'Issan with the seamless integrated fruit of the Lascombes. Still around for $35, a real WOW for that price. I was going to give it a 91, but I think it deserves a 92, another little wonder of 2000.
