90 Points

Tuesday, May 23, 2017 - This Switchback Ridge was great, but not outstanding. It lacked a bit of the indulgent quality I expect from Bob Foley wines, and Switchback Ridge in particular. Compared with previous vintages of the Cabernet, it felt a little more one-dimensional, dominated by sweet, dried red fruits, and lacking structure. Later, with more air, a very nice minerality emerged, so it's possible it just needs more time.
