Wednesday, May 19, 2010 - This was drinking beautifully! A more concentrated wine than the 2006 with very silky tannins. The wine had big black fruits with licorice and a touch of earth, then ended with a nice complex finish that had to last 45+ seconds.

1/30/2013 10:18:00 PM - Maybe. I have limited room in the cellar, and am tempted to just drink the Staglin. I am looking into a purchase of an older bottle of Chateau Margaux, and thought perhaps of auctioning some of the current wines in the cellar to make room and free up finances. The Auction prices for Staglin don't look so hot as it was $175 when I bought it. All the people I know who have drank a bottle loved it for the pure fruit. I just worry about longer aging once the fruit has subdued. I don't have much from Napa these days, but what I do have is of good quality. Maybe I should just enjoy it young. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

1/31/2013 5:39:00 AM - I had the wine about 2 years ago and loved it. Honestly, unless you really love Cali cabs with age on them I can't see how this will get any better than it is right now. I would just pop it before the big fruit starts to fade.
