Saturday, May 7, 2016 - The wine is clear and medium lemon in colour.
The nose is clean with medium (+) intensity aromas of citrus (dried lemon), oak (toast), mlf (cream), other (mineral, wet stones), tertiary development (hazelnuts, honey). The wine is fully developed.
The palate is dry with medium (+) acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, medium (+) intensity flavours of dried lemon, tats, cream, mineral, hazelnuts, honey. The finish is medium (+).
The wine is very good in quality. The fruit is balanced by the acid, and has good concentration and complexity, primarily from secondary and tertiary clusters. The lengths is fairly long and persistent. It lacks some concentration and complexity to be outstanding.
The wine should be drunk now (next 12 months) and is not suitable for further ageing. The primary fruit is virtually non-existent so further tertiary development is unlikely, and the wine is likely to start to fade.
An excellent mature village Puligny-Montrachet, still drinking beautifully.
