Thursday, January 26, 2012 - Plum and violet notes on the nose. Decanted for about an hour and I think it could have used a touch more. Much more aggressive wine when tasted than on the nose. Currants, tobacco and touch of tar which surprised me a bit. Not as well integrated as I might like and a touch hot but a great wine now. I would guess in 6 month to a year we will see improvement. Had the last glass the night after opening and it was improved. The rough edges were gone and it seemed to be much more supple. More raspberry and cherry notes. I would suggest decanting for 2 or 3 hours prior to drinking at this point.
