Sunday, August 25, 2013 - While I enjoy the integrated subtleties of oak in some wines, I found this to be a very heavy handed effort. A PNP revealed an overly oaked and tannic harshness. After a three hour decant, some of this smoothed out but there were still some edges and the wood continued to over-power the fruit. On day two, the oak influence was transforming to vanilla on the finish…a flavor I don’t particularly enjoy. I experienced the same interpretation on two previous bottles.
