Thursday, October 13, 2011 - Dark cherry, baked apple and slightly acidic on the nose with some American oak and whiskey nuances. The petite sirah really comes out on the palate with a nice dryness and pleasant woodsy notes of dark berries and cherries. Nice lingering finish but slightly tart. Great pairing for roasted filets mignons and shallots. A very nice wine but I have had better wines under $15 .
