Friday, December 30, 2011 - Rich and dark in color, there is a sort of charm to this wine: Fruity, with good acidity, but a strong tannic backbone that allows it to pair well with strong meats. I enjoyed this wine with venison steaks, marinated in the wine, and then cooking the marinade into an onion chipotle sauce. The next night, I finished the bottle with hamburgers.
