90 Points

Friday, March 14, 2003 - Bottle taken from my personal cellar, again presented as an unknown (blind) to the usual Friday group at Vintage Wines, Ltd. Deep garnet with an orange rim. Moderately intense nose showing spice box, tar, "paper paste," ripe plum and cigar. Medium-bodied, with largely melted tannins and similar complex flavors as for the nose. Medium, smooth finish. This is probably the best showing for this wine thus far. Most tasters guessed it to be a '95, '90 or '89 Bordeaux.
