Palate sho firm tannins (not super fine) yet also softness that come with age. So it seems to be maturing nicely and in fact is about what I'd expect given other vintages of this wine. Dark fruited, ripe but not overly so. So if one like old school and not super fine tannins this is certainly good and no question not faulty.
