Dark garnet with a rusty rim.
A bit of acetone, a hint of VA that eventually dissipates. As it breathes in the glass, there’s some raspberry, strawberry jam, prune, dill, it feels somewhat excessively aged for an 18 year old Mazoyères-Chambertin. Storage issues?
Some tannin on the palate, chewy and woody - gets lighter after one hour.
Like it’s underage and overly aged at the same time. Still, on the heavier side of Burgundy, which saddens me.
