Monday, November 5, 2012 - Fairly similar to my last tasting ten months ago. Still browning at the rim and a dark reddish-ruby color. Complex aromas and flavors of blackberry, some sweetish black currant, lots of bacon fat, leather, roasted meat, herbs, spice and floral perfume. The bacon fat seems more prevalent after the wine is open for a while. Powerful, rich, as well as smooth in the mouth. Nice structure and balance. A long and appreciable finish. This time it pairs very well with prime N.Y. steak. The wine is drinking well now and should last a few years.
