Wednesday, August 3, 2011 - Some mushroom and truffle development showing on the aroma along with a little sap, plenty of earth and some sweet cherry fruit. It is chunky and blocky, packed with plenty of flavour but not displaying much that would lead you to using the word finesse in a tasting note. It finishes chewy and I like the wine for what it is. It certainly has enough in reserve to continue to develop over the next few years.
