Thursday, August 26, 2010 - Dundee Hills Tasting Event In Portland (Portland, OR): The nose is quite complex showing roast beef, cherries, nutmeg, toffee, and a hint of sea spray. The nose along is interesting and enjoyable. Toffee and coffee both show on the palate with lingering tart cherry flavors. The acidity lingers, and cleans things up well on the finish. Cherry flavors start early, and linger as well. The tannins are soft, and they work politely with the acidity to give the wine some nice texture which is really impressive considering the age. The cherry flavors show the age gracefully. Everything runs out for a good long finish. This is seriously impressive.
