Tuesday, March 1, 2011 - Very good to outstanding Napa red. Clear appearance; deep intensity; ruby color. Clean nose; pronounced intensity on the nose. Aroma characteristics include powerful fruit notes, such as cherry, blueberry, black currant, and plums. Spice notes are also evident, with coffee grounds and subtle oak. Also a bit hot after warming in the glass. Palate is dry; low acid; low to medium tannins that have softened with bottle age. Flavor characteristics match the aromas perfectly. Medium to long finish. The wine is well-balanced and is drinking perfectly now, far better than two years ago.
