Saturday, June 6, 2020 - Few hours of air. Drank in Grassl 1855.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of cedarwood, black cherries, blackcurrant, cassis, menthol. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), fine high tannins, full bod. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet cedarwood, ripe bell peppers, menthol, cinnamon spice, cassis, licorice, blackcurrant, black cherries, blackberries, salty earth. Long finish.
Very good quality. Complex and classic. Feels like a 2nd Growth Bordeaux. Probably at peak already, and will hold this peak for another 4-5 years before starting the gradual decline.
