Sunday, September 15, 2013 - Through the vinturi into the decanter for 2 hours. In the glass: Deep inky garnet, slow long legs. On the nose: Hot wet pavement, currants, raspberry, whiff of white pepper and smoke. In the mouth: med/full mouth feel, good concentration of the nose, some light dry tannins in the middle, weenzy bit of tart raspberry on the tongue, some dry tannins down the throat. A little more fruit than my tastes in a cab, but still nice. More than held its own with the ribsteak and fresh garden tomatoes. Decanting is a must!
