Wednesday, October 3, 2012 - Good, deep ruby color. Terribly disjointed, hot and oaky on the pop. With an hour or so of air, the alcohol seems to mostly dissipate, and the oak does integrate, but never quite fully. Nose of dark red fruit, leather, green pepper, and oak. Medium bodied with dark red fruit, oak, and a touch of alcohol on the palate. Medium+ finish. Chalky but mellow tannins. Alright, but over-oaked.
