Wednesday, February 12, 2014 - Screw cap. Tulip yellow. Musky, deeply pitched citrus aromatics. Lanolin, caressing feel. Seems a bit short on acidity, but a ton of soil tones drench the palate late. Dry and slight bitterness to finish. It has held up very well despite the rinky dink closure and is much less blowsy and exotic than it was 4 years ago. Not as exciting as some of the older vintages of the Trie Speciale, but still an interesting and idiosyncratic example of Savennieres-a Chenin Blanc like no other.
