Thursday, February 29, 2024 - Decanted by good friend for 12 hrs prior to serving. Deep dense maroon and ruby color. Herbal notes (spearmint and tomato?), cherry, old leather on the nose. Black cherry, herbal tones, earth, and leather on the palate with 35 sec finish. Strong acidity that begs for food pairing, which definitely enhanced both food (short rib pasta) and wine. Still felt young but beautifully made and a nice birthday treat.
