Friday, August 28, 2009 - Grenache Smackdown (Wally's, Arlington Heights): nose: succulent and rich nose with some heady tones of red and black cherries, herbal spices, black fruits, and melted licorice. Excellent depth with a real great purity to it and real class to it at the same time
taste: very refined medium feel that gives into pure and polished tones of roasted meats on the backend with tones of red and black cherries, herbs, and tones of melted licorice
overall: a real lovely and attractive grenache. I really liked the purity on this and it just came across as very classy with good depth and a great expression of tones on both the nose and palate
