Friday, December 3, 2010 - Beautiful color with ruby red base and brick at the edges. Good smell with lots of things going on, roses, some oak, cherry and licorice with a hint of tar all in a perfect balance. This Barolo is not of the tougher type, rather more subtle with an elegant balance of acid, tannins and alcohol. Improved a lot after 1-2 hours in the decanter. Marvelous wine that is surprisingly accessible now
