Friday, January 8, 2010 - It might have been because of the snow and wintery conditions, but we were both thrilled with the hartwarming components of this wine.
(Although immediately upon opening the nose smelled not very appealing, like nale polish remover?) I decided to give the wine a double decant, for one hour, but I should have given the wine more time, as the nose kept developing beautiful grenache and provencal herbs while in our glasses; lots of pepper and spices:on the palate the wine has gained more body (compared to our previous bottle 11 months earlier); no hard edges, smooth and very pleasurable. long finish. I didn´t notice much of a burgundy-style C9dP (often attributed to Charvin's wines), but more of a classic grenache; just delicious and a good match with the "coq au vin".
seems ready for drinking but after opening needs some time in the decanter, so there is no need to hurry.
