Friday, October 26, 2012 - Still dark in colour, bright dark cherry centre and a red cherry robe, only a tinge of brick at the rim. Nose is nice, oak is well integrated, and shows only a little after 1 hour of decanting, sweet red and black cherry fruit, maybe a whiff of blackpepper and spice. Mellow and well rounded, yet with definite structure, there is a good balance of still firm tannins and very juicy currant acidity, over the mainly cherry fruit. Nice long finish.

This was very good, more powerful than expected, and not a flabby soft reserva of yesteryear. Still very much a food wine, with great acidity.
