Thursday, May 17, 2012 - Real sumptuous stuff. A dark ruby color; bright and clear. Aromas of blackberry, black currant, licorice, herbs, cola, sweet oak. The same flavors, along with a pronounced amount of cherry, black pepper, and spice. Big, rich and structured. Soft and velvety in the mouth. The tannins are there, but suppressed by the high fruit concentration. A long and spicy finish, with just a very slight alcohol sting on the back palate. Pairs very nicely with lamb chops. A bargain priced CDP.
