Thursday, September 23, 2010 - Drank this over two nights. On first night, opened and poured. My first impression was too much California-style fruit and sweetness and not enough complexity or spice on the palate. Only later did it reveal some subtle Rhone flavours. While it had the notes of grenache and syrah, it seemed too thin. I stoppered the bottle for the night and tried again the next evening. The second time around, it was more like a slightly thinner version of a Guigal Cotes du Rhone and it shed much of its dominating, and debilitating, fruitiness and revealed most of the characteristics of its French counterpart.
