Friday, July 29, 2011 - We had this side by side with 2007 Quilceda Creek Red wine, which is also a nice Bordeaux style Cab blend from Washington state. They are very similar blends, but we thought the Grand Reve was the better wine. The Collaboration Series I is 63% Cab Sauvignon, 13% Cab Franc, 13% Petit Verdot, and 11% Merlot, and the blend is very tasty. Nice nose of dark fruit, cherries, oak, smoke. Good, smooth tannins, and the wine is beautifully dense and flows around the palate. Good fruits from the blend, some cherry again, a hint of tobacco and graphite, all with a good backbone. This is another great wine from a great Washington state winery.
