Tuesday, December 7, 2010 - Deep dark ruby, solid to edges. Big alcohol legs on glass.

Nose of blackcurrant and brambly blackberries, guava, orange peel, white pepper and sweet tars. Earthy cloves and chocolate.

Palate surprisingly refined. I didn't expect this. Black fruits, dry dusty yet sweet tannins. Soft, supportive acids. Alcohol well contained.

Medium to long finish. I like.

Postscript: I am just so impressed with this wine. On the second night I spent more time with it and just couldn't put it down. You have got to try this to see what I mean. Absolutely delicious! Fresh, full bodied and a fabulous nose. Very reminiscent of an extremely good CnDP. I'm raising my scoring to 92.
