Wednesday, January 12, 2011 - Tasted blind..
Swirling in the glass the wine created a layer of deep purple tears around the glass suggesting a thick skinned grape.
Nose: Ground dirt, blackfruits of blackberries, dark plums, wasnt able to pick up any aromas to suggest oak barreling (wine was really cold :()
Palate: Heavy wood/fruit tannin, confirmed blackfruits. Wine showed Medium plus acid, medium high alcohol.
No doubt about this wine it shows a New World Cabernet Sauvignon, the heavy oak suggests Napa, Sonoma, Paso area.
