Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - We really enjoyed this wine. The nose is plum with a bit of cherry, vanilla and even some figs. The taste is initially neutral, not a feeling of fruit, alcohol or spice, more of a bit of a mineral tang. But, that doesn't last long, the aftertaste and the growing taste is a wonderfully strong and nicely balanced set of peppers, coffee, and plums. We felt it was a very smooth, balanced blend, low on tannins, with a velvety mouth feel. The color is ruby red. It's 13.5% alcohol and a mix of 55% Carmenere, 30% Syrah, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon (as pointed out already by others). This was excellent QPR and well worth getting again.
