Saturday, June 18, 2011 - Tasted blind, this wine had a deep purple center with some orange at the rim. The high- intensity nose of rhubarb, cherries, soil, and brown spices was impressive.

In the mouth, the wine was ripe and rich with attractive rounded tannin and very nice length. The acidity was firm and this was a touch leaner than Guigal's great years. However, for an "off" vintage, it was very impressive. While drinkable now (with 2+ hours of air), this should last for many years.
