90 Points

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 - My first Quilceda flagship wine. Have had the "red" wine numerous times and enjoyed it, but I must say I'm disappointed here. Did not notice any flaws, and this has been properly stored, etc., but was just not that impressed. A nice wine for sure, but this was not what I was expecting given the hype and price point. Many Quilceda conversations talk about how they need time, etc. However, this is a new world style and I feel like normally wines of this style, though they will usually improve with age, still show at least glimpses of greatness at early ages, so I don't feel like this is simply a case of opening too young.
