Sunday, September 14, 2014 - Lovely nose of dark fruit with hints of blackberry, red cherry, and earth, more of the same on the palate, easy drinking, at its peak, medium body and medium/long finish.

9/15/2014 10:38:00 PM - I have posted 7 notes on the 2006 Silver Oak Alexander Valley and finished the last half of the bottle this evening during Monday Night Football-NFL. It is now 8 years old, at its best and should easily stay at this level another 5 years. How long do you want your wine to age is a personal decision. I try to drink my wine older than most people because I enjoy bottle bouquet instead of bottle aroma, less tannin, and more subtle, flavors. Drink the wine when you judge it to be its best.
