Saturday, March 18, 2023 - Off restaurant list. Celebrating friendship and a business closure with a fellow collector. Luckily there are restaurants where you find these gems at allocation prices. Right from the first whiff we knew that this was special. Haunting nose of whole cluster, underbrush, sweet spices, autumn leaves, dried flowers, red fruit, developed over the meal and went to new heights every time we went back to the glass. Sublime elegance, fills the palate, yet stays light. A truly memorable wine moment, sadly the World knows and hence the prices of DRC RC. PS: I had the La Tache 08 at the same restaurant a few years back and it was also a stunner, very similar, a bit more structure and volume. DRC really nailed this vintage.
