Sunday, January 22, 2012 - Big, big wine. A rich, almost overpowering nose of chocolate covered bing cherry with vanilla evident. Huge in the mouth, complex, showing cherry and raspberry, a little cassis, and more of that chocolate/vanilla finish. Tasty, even if the oak is evident. So much fruit, the wine comes off as almost a little sweet, with a relatively low acidity that leaves the full-bodied wine feeling a little too plush to be "balanced," but it's hedonistically interesting. Finish is, as one would expect, extremely long.

Drink through 2018.
