Tuesday, September 1, 2015 - Tasted blind. Nose of potting soil, delicious caramel, candied red fruit, and plumeria. Spicy, peppery, and briny on entrance. Black currant, olives, and mossy earth. The funk blows off after an hour to reveal berries and graham cracker. I think I actually liked it better when it was a bit funkier, but there's no denying the fruit is ripe and extracted, and it is aging well. This was one that deserved more attention, and it suffered from sharing the stage with half a dozen other wines.
