Thursday, April 11, 2013 - Dark purple. Expressive nose, though not all that focused. Blackberry, cured meat, and a floral quality as well. The wine included a lot of flavor, but had a coarse and unfocused quality. Touch of bitter oak and slight alcoholic heat. Not as polished as other versions of this wine, and I wonder if the heat of '08 wasn't it's undoing.
