Monday, October 18, 2010 - My first 2008 Carlisle Dry Creek Zinfandel, and what a first impression! We enjoyed this fantastic wine with an assortment of wurst, cabbage and potato salad.
This is a refined Zin that also includes a small amount of Petite Sirah and Carignane. All of the elements come together to serve up vivid aromas of assorted berries and an inviting spiciness. Wow, I am absolutely loving this wine!
What sets this wine apart is the balance of dark fruit flavors and acidity. Everything just comes together to offer a remarkably well-crafted Zinfandel. This wine instantly catapulted itself to the top of my favorites list and left me wishing I had a few more bottles on hand.
