Wednesday, March 16, 2011 - Opulent and intense, cherry pie, currant, coffee and blackberry in the nose, all brought together by an overwhelming oak scent. Refined and elegant tannins with an impressive grip in the mid palate but for my taste it is laking some fruit. Nice balanced acidity but it appears as if the wood takes over the fruit. Never the less the wine has a long finish (close to 20 seconds) which is very satisfying. THis wine will have its fans.
For my taste there is not enough fruit to back up the oak.
