Wednesday, September 18, 2013 - I can see this as a polarizing wine as it does have a healthy amount of funkiness to it; a bit horsey. However there is a nice, cool-toned, crisp red-fruitiness to it. Light, airy and elegant... but again, funky. The structure seems to rely more on acids and tannins in this vintage. It should be noted that this is less funky on the palate than on the nose. Seems to have gotten a bit better on day 2 and 3.
