Tuesday, February 4, 2014 - The 2008 is considered an "off vintage" and Pegau Reservee can be found for a reasonable price. Some friends thought we'd give it a try with the hopes that we'd be excited and buy more.
I really liked the nose. It makes one feel like they walked into an old library - worn leather and musty smells with some barnyard, wet sheep scents. The palate was good, but felt like there was a hint of carbonation which detracted the overall taste. It also lacked depth which I would expect from Pegau. I liked this wine, I did not love it.
I will be holding off before I buy more of the '08.
