Tuesday, May 6, 2014 - A complete delivery, with enough development and complexity of aromas and flavours. Brownish red visuals. Meaty and savoury on the nose, with a puff of forest fire, old strawberries, italian sweet/sour cherries, dried cranberries and plums, roast beef juices, polypody fern and liquorice, garrigue undergrowth, truffles, tar, and a hint of bretty farmyard oak foudres. Mature and generous on the palate, where the acids and tannins already are softened by age. Good midpalate concentration and nice length, with sensations of the sweet, salty and meaty, only moderately warming. A solid companion to our grilled vegetables and meat à la provençale. To be drunk soon, while the structure lasts. We're still happy to have a few of these relative bargains left.
