I noted fragrance of cedar cigar box, with graphite and dark plum. On the palate, notes of green olive, garrigue, licorice and cassis. It had balanced acidity and tannins with a somewhat long finish.

One cannot argue that this is a well made old world wine. However, perhaps it is the style or flavor profile that I don't find particularly appealing at the moment. My tablemate, an adept taster commented that this was showing as well as any Pegau he had ever consumed. And to that end I agree that this wine is in a prime drinking window. As I have bottles of 09/10 in the cellar, I am also curious to what extent vintage impacts the enjoyability of this wine, but the variability in average score across vintage is compelling.

Curious about how others think this wine compares to newer vintages and the degree of vintage variability you perceive from this producer...
