Thursday, July 5, 2012 - 15.6% ABV. Opened this yesterday and found it to be kind of an oaky mess. Left overnight in the cellar it improved quite a bit. Slightly translucent rim, opaque dark garnet center. Aromas of oak, black cherry, and an elemental mineral quality. The aromatics reminded me a bit of some Saxum wines. Full bodied on the palate with sweet black fruit and some additional oak. Probably better with some more time in bottle.
