Friday, May 20, 2022 - If I could buy these bottles at the price I paid for them upon release, I still wouldn't. These wines from Gaja are incredibly over priced and over rated in my opinion. I do like there straight Barbaresco on occasion but I have honestly never been impressed with any of their single vineyard crus. I especially have issues with the era in which they blended the 5% Barbera into the single vineyard bottlings. The 2001 Sori Tildin was soft and velvety in the mouth, but lacked complexity and was lackluster. The Barbera is prevalent and distracting to me and I would imagine other true lovers of Barolo and Barbaresco.
