Friday, April 22, 2022 - Popped this gem open tonight for a try. At 27yrs old it still had solid tannic structure and power and is wonderfully delicious. First notes are earth, dirt, mushroom, peat. An hour in it showed stewed fruit, plum, licorice, tar, smoke all with a wonderful body and mouth feel. Slightly dry and long finish that hangs on the back and sides of your tongue. It’s like savoring a rich, dense, chocolate desert. Beautiful wine.
